President Can’t Delete His Tweets

in Investing by

Did you know the President can’t delete his tweets?! It could be a matter of federal record keeping, and is certainly news to me.

Two congressmen (one a democrat and the other a republican), sent a letter to the White House this week “expressing concerns about the Trump administration’s record keeping habits and its nontransparent use of social media and other forms of electronic communication.

The congressman cited in particular, Trump’s penchant for tweeting, and then deleting due to misspellings. Deleting tweets could be a violation of the Presidential Records Act, “if the tweets are not archived.”

The letter stated, “many of the messages sent from these accounts are likely to be presidential records and therefore must be preserved,” in reference to both his official @POTUS account, and @realDonaldTrump.

Question, do his retweets count? And also, how come he asks the internet things, like you’re the president, you literally have all of the information.

Just imagine what history studies will look like in the coming years, rather than examining distinguished letters between heads of states, school kids will be reading Trump’s live-action brain activity, like this tweet that’ll truly live forever both in records and minds (#Tapp). Crazy, this world we live in today.

That’s the gist of it, but for more, read this Huffington Post article (complete with video!) by Marina Fang.
