The November Event: Wine & Personal Finance Experts!

in Investing by

The Paper & Coffee is on a mission to make finance fun, so we’re making it social – just as it should be! This November 23rd we’re hosting our first event in Gastown, Vancouver. We’ll have a panel of personal finance experts (featuring WealthBar CEO Tea NicolaVoleo CEO Thomas Beattie, and Mogo Money Financial Fitness Coach Chantel Chapman!), and a moderator (me!), to lead you through a discussion about the current financial industry and how as millennials, we fit into it.

Traditionally the financial industry has been, and largely still is, set up for people who have hefty sums to invest (many advisors and institutions expect you to have $200k + to invest in order to work with them). This isn’t realistic for our age demographic, and so I find that there isn’t enough attention paid to us in terms of helping us become more financially literate and more engaged in investing.

This is why I am so passionate about increasing the millennial generation’s – my generation’s – understanding of money. We’re a savvy bunch, but finance is complicated – not hard, just complicated – and it should be explained in a way that works for us. So, we’re giving you a couple glasses of wine, some great cheese and an engaging panel that’ll open up the floor to all your questions, and we’re calling it: Discussing Finance.

I’m also thrilled to have the event sponsored by Vancouver fin-tech company WealthBar. They are big proponents of financial literacy and offer a great alternative to your typical and expensive financial advisor.

All this is only $25 flat.

Come join us Wednesday, November 23rd 5:30pm – 8:30pm at the L’Atelier Coworking Space in Gastown and up your money game.

There are a limited number of tickets available, get yours now!
