Last Wednesday marked the first event in the Discussing Finance series in Vancouver, and we want to thank all who attended! We’re very pleased to announce that not only did the event sell out, but oversold with guests arriving last minute looking for extra tickets and happily, we were able to fit everyone in.
The panel, made up of WealthBar Co-Founder & CEO Tea Nicola, Voleo CEO Thomas Beattie, and Chantel Chapman from Mogo Money, answered questions both pre-organized and from the audience, sharing with us their expertise on current events (Trump’s affect on the stock market and what rising interest rates will mean), setting financial goals, how to establish a portfolio, determining what to look for and expect in a financial advisor, the pros and cons of stock picking (based on the current enthusiasm for it), what strong financial health looks like, and much much more.
We hosted our finance panel at L’Atelier Coworking Space in Gastown, and thanks to Evolve Cellars, served our guests a selection of pinot gris and cabernet merlot from BC’s Okanagan.
Many thanks to our sponsor, WealthBar, for supporting our vision, and helping The Paper & Coffee host a successful first event.
We look forward to the next Discussing Finance, in late January 2017.
